Built to be trusted
before it was built to be sold.
Greenwick didn't start as a product. It started as a question its founder wanted answered for himself: what would it take to trust AI anywhere near a real trading account?
The answer clearly wasn't "a chatbot that picks stocks." One model giving one confident answer is exactly the thing a careful trader shouldn't trust. So the system that became Greenwick was built the other way around — safety machinery first, intelligence second. A deterministic risk engine that validates every order in plain code, outside the AI loop. A kill switch. Automatic safety exits that keep running no matter what. A reconciliation loop that treats the broker as the only source of truth. An append-only, hash-chained audit trail. Then, on top of that foundation, the interesting part: a team of specialist agents that research independently, argue the bull and bear case, and must justify every decision to code that cannot be argued with.
That personal system ran — and evolved — through months of daily use before Greenwick existed as a product. The commercial app is that architecture, rebuilt for people who will never open a terminal: the same risk engine, the same pipeline, the same honesty rules, behind a one-click Mac app. Greenwick still runs every market day on its founder's own desk — the first user has always been the person with the most to lose from it being wrong.
The principles that don't move
- Safety is constitutional. The risk engine is the sole trade authority; the kill switch, safety exits, and paper-by-default can be strengthened by an update, never weakened — and a lapsed subscription never disables protection on open positions.
- Local-first is an architecture, not a marketing line. Your keys, your data, and your trades live on your machine. Greenwick has no cloud that could lose what it never holds.
- Honesty over polish. Benchmarks that can't be flattered, reports that mark their data gaps, a bear agent paid to argue against every trade, and no performance promises — anywhere, ever.
- You stay in control. Approvals by default, autonomy strictly opt-in, and a STOP button that always works.
The company
Greenwick is made by Prompt One LLC, a small, independent US software company. No venture funding, no data monetization, no order-flow anything — revenue is subscriptions, and the incentives stay exactly that simple. Prompt One LLC is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser; Greenwick is software you run, on accounts you own.
